Abstract

Solmization is a system of placing a different syllable in each number notation, then reading the notation while singing it. Solmization in singing technique is applied so that students have mastery of tone as an absolute requirement in order to be able to bring a song or song well.The main problems in this study are: How to apply the basic technique of reading solmization on the song Peten Arik model through the solfeggio method in class VIII-A students of SMP Negeri Oenopu, Biboki Withouth District, North Central Timor Regency. The purpose of this study is to apply the solfeggio method in reading the solmization of the song Peten Arik model for the students of SMP Negeri Oenopu, Biboki Withouth District, North Central Timor Regency. The researcher uses a qualitative approach, the method used is field action research and the data collection techniques used are library research and field studies consisting of observation, interviews and documentation.The results of this study indicate that the application of the basic technique of reading solmization on the song Peten Arik model to the students of class VIII-A SMP Negeri Oenopu, carried out in three stages, namely: the initial stage, (researchers recruit members of interest in singing, and determine the exercise schedule), the first stage core (beginning with group exercises after which combined exercises), the final stage (staging and taking the final video of the song Peten Arik).Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that in the research process, the researchers found several obstacles, namely most of the research subjects understood the material taught by the researchers but in practice the research subjects had difficulties, namely aiming not precisely at certain tones. However, this problem can be solved by using the solfeggio method.
