Abstract

Efforts made to improve the quality of secondary vocational schools is to assess the performance of candidate for chairman of the departement, but that happens in secondary vocational schools in general that thecretiria that there is sometimes not used because of time constrains, to judge one by one candidate, other than that there is no a standardized system so that the determination is based on the departement head element of proximity. This assessment is centainly not an objective assessment to establish the new system. Decision support systems be an alternative that is used to support decision making departement head determination by using AHP method. AHP method is a method used to solve complex problems and are not structured into groups-group, with the group set into a hierarchy, and then enter a numeric value. This software development, using the programming language Visual Basic 6.0 and Access as its database. This decision support system can help the school in assessing, on the performance of candidates for departement head. It is useful to facilitate decisionmaking, the determination of the head of departement at the vocational high school (SMK).
