Abstract

This research is entitled A Study on Affixation of Lamaholot Language. It is intended to answering the questions: (1) What is the affixation process of Solor Dialect of Lamaholot Language? (2) What are the bound and free morpheme that belong to affixation of Solor Dialect of Lamaholot Language?. The objectives of the study are the following: (1) To find out the affixation process of Solor Dialect of Lamaholot Language. (2) To find out bound morpheme and free morpheme that belong to affixation of Solor Dialect of Lamaholot Language. The study was conducted in West Solor Subdistrict, Pamakayo Village East Flores Regency. In this study, the writer used descriptive qualitative method. The instrument that was used in collecting the data was observation and interview technique. The writer chose 5 informants for colecting the data. The data were analyzed through some steps: reading the data in form of sentences in Lamaholot Language, translating the sentences, indentifying, desribed, explained the bound morpheme and free morpheme, and then concluded. In line with in the problem statement, the writer found (1) affixation process in West Solor of Lamaholot Language and (2) bound morpheme and free morpheme. Affixation process in West Solor Dialect consists of; (1) prefix {be-}segu becomes besegu, letu becomes beletu, {pe-} du’un becomes pedu’un, late becomes pelate, {se-} muri becomes semuri, {en-} gui becomes kenui, gena becomes kenena, (2) infix {-en-} toban becomestenoban, tubuk becomes tenubuk, {-em-} tani becomes temani, tutu becomes temutu, (3) circumfix (be-,-en) letu becomes beletun, laki becomes belakin. It was also found bound morpheme and free morpheme in West Solor of Lamaholot Language. Bound morpheme consists of prefix {be-}, {pe-}, {se-}, {en-}, infix {-en-}, {-em}, circumfix {be-, -n}. Free morpheme consists of gui (V), segu (V), gena (V), du’un (V), late (V), ru’a (N), letu (V), laki (N), lota (V), tubuk (V), toban (N), rua (N), hedun (V), tani (V), tutu (V), muri (V), laba (V), olah (V), leba (V), ago(V), kuma (Adjective), reron (Adverb of time), lolon (Adverb), tahang (N). In line with the significance and finding of the study some suggestions are proposed. (1) The expert of linguistics and other related subject are suggested to do continued study to confirm the linguistics evidance in forms of affixation process in Solor Dialect of Lamaholot Language. (2) The linguistics researchers are suggested to do other researches focusing on other grammatical aspect of Solor Dialect of Lamaholot Language. (3) The speakers of Solor Dialect of Lamaholot Language are suggested to appriciate more the Lamaholot Language especially Solor Dialect, by preserving the Lamaholot Language so it will be one of treasure and unique parts of culture from Eastern Flores.
