Abstract

Structure Analysis in the sense of the word, calculates the inner forces arising in the elements of the structure as a result of the work of the outer force on the structure and at the same time calculates the magnitude of the stress that occurs in the cross section of the element. To analyze the structure, there are two ways of analysis, 2D structure analysis and 3D structure analysis. The 2D portal system is a combination of frame elements and beam elements, thus the portal system is designed to accept normal force, latitude force and moment force. In the field of civil engineering, the calculation of the forces acting on the structure of the 2D portal can be carried out in different ways. One way to calculate the displacement that occurs due to forces acting on structures with inner forces and placement reactions is to use the Finite Element Method (FEM). The Finite Element Method (FEM) is a numerical procedure for analyzing structures, the essence of FEM is to divide an object to be analyzed, into several parts with finite quantities. These parts are called elements in which each of the elements is connected with a node, then combined with a mathematical equation that represents the object. The purpose of the researcher is to find out how big the presentation of the comparison of displacement joint values, axial forces and placement reactions on the two-dimensional portal structure between the results of the analysis of element method calculations to the results of SAP software analysis. The magnitude of the percentage value of the displacement joint comparison, axial force, and the placing reaction between the Finite Element Method analysis and the SAP 2000 Software Analysis, shows the relevance between the two analysis results where the value is carried 5%.
