Abstract

The singing skills of a two-voice chorus in class XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Soa, can be said to be one of the means to improve the ability of students to sing and can shape the personality of students in terms of their interests and talents. The main problem in this research is how to apply two-voice choral singing skills with the Kau Ko Solo song model through the drill method as an extracurricular activity in class XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Soa. The purpose of this study was to describe the efforts made in order to determine the skills of singing a two-voice chorus with the Kau Ko Solo song model through the drill method as an extracurricular activity in class XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Soa, Ngada Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach, the method used in this research is field action and data collection techniques used are literature studies and field studies consisting of observation (observation), interview techniques, and documentation techniques. The results of this study indicate that the skills of singing a two-voice chorus with the song Kau Ko Solo as an extracurricular activity for class XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Soa, are passed through various stages, namely, the initial stage is the recruitment of choir members, then the core stage is training. Kau ko solo song using etude first and then using song lyrics, and the final stage is showing the song Kau ko solo. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that in singing two voices of the same type, the researchers found many difficulties experienced. However, this can be overcome by repeated practice so that the choir participants can sing well.
