Abstract
This study aims to determine the reasoning ability of class VIII Junior school students. This type of research is descriptive research using qualitative methods. The instruments used in this study were test questions. The subjects used in this study were 36 students who were taken from students of SMA Negeri 5 Kupang Class VIII. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation, interviews, test questions. Furthermore, the analysis of all data is carried out by giving a raw score to each student's answer to the essay question based on a predetermined standard. Next, determine the level of reasoning of students based on predetermined criteria. The results showed that students' ability to remember reached a percentage of 60% with very good descriptions, students' ability to analyze reached a percentage of 57%.
