Abstract

A doctor acting as an xpert in providing information to patients about the disease suffered by patiens based on symptom complaints submitted. Lack of medical facilities such as a lack of experts make health into a long consultation process. Prof.Dr. W. Z. Johanes Hospital Kupang have 84 doctors and 1155 medical personnel in 2013. There are only 9 experts in internal disease who handle 6066 patiens in the same year. Therefore this problem can be solved by using fuzzy expert system to assist physicians and medical personnel in accelerating the process of service. Fuzzy logic can be used to determine what diseases of the patient based on the input lab result and numerical variables of each symptom. Accurate diagnosis of the disease requires a stage of process and support one of which is a fuzzy expert system. In this study, a fuzzy logic method is used to Mamdani method Centroid defuzzification method. While the tool used was Microsoft Visual Basic 6 and Microsoft Accsess. Based on the result of this study, the application of fuzzy expert systems can assist medical personnel in the diagnosis of disease in by the input lab result and numeric variables of each symptom. With the fuzzy expert systems, medical personnel can speed up the process of diagnosis of disease in humans
