Abstract
Low learning outcomes require teachers to use effective learning models to improve student learning outcomes. The purpose of this study 1) To find out the activities of students in class XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri Tasifeto Barat in learning that applies a problem-based learning model on the material Buffer Solution (Buffer). 2) Knowing the activities of students in class XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri Tasifeto Barat in learning that applies the guided inquiry model to the material Buffer Solution (Buffer). 3) Knowing the learning outcomes of students in class XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri Tasifeto Barat in learning that applies a problem-based learning model on the material Buffer Solution (Buffer). 4) Knowing the learning outcomes of students in class XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri Tasifeto Barat in learning that applies guided inquiry on the material Buffer Solution (Buffer). 5) Knowing whether there is a difference between student learning outcomes in learning that applies problem-based learning models and guided inquiry on the Buffer Solution material. 6) Knowing the responses of students of class XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri Tasifeto Barat to the application of problem-based learning models on the material Buffer Solution (Buffer).7) Knowing the response of class XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri Tasifeto Barat students to the application of the guided inquiry learning model on the material Buffer Solution (Buffer). This type of research is descriptive and comparative. The sample in this study was class X IPA 1 and X IPA 2 students of SMA Negeri Tasifeto Barat. Data collection techniques are observation and tests. The data analysis technique used is descriptive and statistical analysis. From the results of data analysis obtained: 1 The activities of students in learning that apply problem-based learning models are classified in the very good category. 2) The activities of students in learning that apply the guided inquiry learning model are in the very good category. 3) The learning outcomes of students in class XI IPA 1 at SMA Negeri Tasifeto Barat in learning that applies a complete problem-based learning model with a final score of 90. 4) The learning outcomes of students in class XI IPA 2 at SMA Negeri Tasifeto Barat in learning using a guided inquiry learning model completed with a final score of 88. 5) There are differences in student learning outcomes by applying the problem-based learning model and guided inquiry with a value of tcount > ttable (4.972 < 2.00) where the problem-based model has a greater value than the guided inquiry. 6) The response of students in learning that applies the problem-based learning model is in the very good category with the percentage value obtained is 83%. 7) The response of students in learning that applies the guided inquiry learning model is in the very good category with the percentage value obtained is 73%.
