Abstract

Tafa and Padang musical instruments are traditional musical instruments from the Takpala traditional village which are played in various events, including in the construction of Sometimes. Tafa and Padang have become one of the hereditary traditions of the Takpala traditional village community. The main problem in this study is how the form of presentation of the Tafa and Padang musical instrument games in the development of the Sometimes in the Takpala traditional village, Alor Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the form of presentation of the game of Tafa and Padang musical instruments in the development of Sometimes in the Takpala traditional village, Alor Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods. Techniques for obtaining data using literature studies, and field studies through interviews and existing documents. Sometimes development is a hereditary tradition of the Takpala traditional village community which involves playing Tafa and Padang musical instruments. The development process is sometimes carried out in several stages. At every stage of development starting from the preparation stage to the inauguration stage, sometimes Tafa and Padang are always sounded. The results of the research show that in the construction of traditional houses there is only one rhythm pattern that is played from the beginning of construction to completion. The form of presentation consists of the form of rhythm patterns, the number of players, and the musical instruments being played.
