Abstract

The research is entitled "Students' Perception on the Use of Bahasa Indonesia in learning English". This research aims to find out the students' perception on the use of Bahasa Indonesia in learning English. It employed a descriptive method. It was conducted at SMKN 3 Kupang and one hundred students were treated as the sample of this research. It used the simple random sampling technique to take the sample. The data were collected through questionnaire. To collect the data, the study employed the questionnaire with 10 statements given to 100 students. The research findings show that there were 35% of students answered strongly agree and 38% answered agree hence 73% of students give positive responses to the use of Bahasa Indonesia in learning English and found that there were 6% of students answered disagree and 21% answered strongly disagree. Hence the conclusion is there were 27% give negative responses to the use of Bahasa Indonesia in learning English.
