Abstract
The use of detergent in household activities causes pollution of the aquatic environment so that processing is necessary. Research on the study of the effectiveness and efficiency of detergent waste treatment methods has been carried out with the aim of knowing effective and efficient methods of processing detergent waste. The research method used is the literature study. In this method, research data are obtained from several literature sources such as books, scientific journals, and news articles. The results showed that the methods that can be used to treat detergent waste are biofilters, biodegradation, adsorption, coagulation-flocculation, advanced oxidation process,photocatalysis, electrocoagulation, and membranes. A relatively more effective and efficient method for the treating detergent waste is biofilters, biodegradation, and adsorption.
