Abstract

Since ancient times the Indonesian people already know and use berkasiat plant as one of the efforts to control health problems faced. to avoid errors in the use of the keterbuktian kasiat traditional medicine needs to be done scientifically through research. The purpose of this research is conducted to know the truth will potentsi jakut bitter leaf extract (Paspalum conjugatum) as an anti-bacterial staphylococcus aureus. This research includes studies real experiments using completely randomized design (CRD) with the doings of the Post Test-Only Control Group Design. Data collected in Kupang Unwira Microbiology Laboratory, and analyzed using SPC. The results showed that the leaf extract of bitter jakut (Paspalum conjugatum) at a concentration of 6mg / ml, 7MG / ml, and 8 mg / ml has the ability as a bacteriostatic, whereas at concentrations of 9-10 mg / ml showed his ability as bakterisisda The conclusion that can be drawn from the results of this study are jakut bitter leaf extract (Paspalum conjugatum) has the ability both as a bacteriostatic or bactericidal.
