Abstract

The modified of independent inquiry approach is constitute an investigation of a problem in order to search for systematic completion freely undertaken by learners and only assisted by the teacher when needed. The main problem of this research is how the results of the application of modified independent inquiry approach the subject matter of geometric optics of the students in class X-5 math-physics at SMAN 4 Kupang in school year 2013/2014? In a detailed formulation of the problem can be described as follows: 1) How does ability of the teacher to manage the learning activities of the subject matter of geometric optics with modified independent inquiry approach to learners in class X-5 math-physics at SMAN 4 Kupang in school year 2013/2014? 2) How does mastery of learning outcomes indicators subject matter of geometric optics with modified independent inquiry approach to learners in class X-5 math-physics at SMAN 4 Kupang in school year 2013/2014? 3) How does mastery learning outcomes of student’s subject matter of geometric optics with modified independent inquiry approach to learners in class X-5 math-physics at SMAN 4 Kupang in school year 2013/2014? 4) How does the response of students to the subject matter of learning activities of geometric optics with modified independent inquiry approach to learners in class X-5 math-physics at SMAN 4 Kupang even semester of the school year 2013/2014? Based on the formulation of the problem, the objectives of this research are: Describe the results of the application of modified independent inquiry approach to the subject matter of the students of geometric optics in class X-5 Math-physics at SMAN 4 Kupang even semester in school 2013/2014? In detailed objectives can be described as follows: 1) Describes the teacher's ability to manage the learning activities subject matter of geometric optics with modified independent inquiry approach to learners in class X-5 mathphysics at SMAN 4 Kupang even semester of the school year 2013/2014. 2) Describes the completeness of outcomes indicators of learning subject matter of geometric optics with modified independent inquiry approach to learners in class X-5 math-physics at SMAN 4 Kupang even semester of the school year 2013/2014. 3) Describes the learning outcomes of student’s completeness subject matter of geometric optics with modified independent inquiry approach to learners in class X-5 math-physics at SMAN 4 Kupang even semester of the school year 2013 / 2014. 4) Describes the response of students to the subject matter of learning activity of geometric optics with modified independent inquiry approach to learners in class X-5 math-physics at SMAN 4 Kupang even semester in school year 2013/2014. The research is a descriptive study with a research subject is the teacher (researcher) and the students of class X-5 math-physics at SMAN 4 Kupang, amounting to 38 pupils. The instrument used in this study is the observation sheet management lesson that applies with modified independent inquiry approach, Test Results Learning (cognitive, affective, psychomotor and processes) and stuffing Response Sheet learners. The data analysis technique used in this study is a descriptive analysis technique by calculating average values, percentages and proportions. While learning tools used are Subjects of Students, Syllabus, Lesson Plan, Worksheet Students, grille and Learning Test Results. Based on the analysis resulted obtained that the teacher's ability to manage learning by applying with modified independent inquiry is good for the subject matter of geometry optics to learners in class X-5 math-physics at SMAN 4 Kupang, amounting to 38 pupils. Eight indicators of cognitive learning outcomes prepared, there are two indicators are not completely finished, while six other indicators are completed. Learning outcomes of students to be completed are in the cognitive, affective, psychomotor and processes. The response of students to the learning activities by applying with modified independent inquiry approach is very good.
