Abstract

The cooperative learning model of numbered head together type cosists of four levels that used to point out again the main fact and information the learned and useful for students interaction. NHT is used to involved as many as students in searching a topic of a lesson and to check their understanding of that lesson. The main problem in this study is, how the application result of the cooperative learning model of NHT type with the main topic is Energy and Effort to eighth grades students at SMP Swasta Beringin Kupang academic year 2013/2014? Deataily, the problems in this study are (1) How the teacher ability in manage learning process that use NHT type of cooperative learning model? (2) How the students develop their cooperative skill in studying activity by using NHT type of cooperative learning model? (3) How is thoroughness the studying result indicator of the students in learning who apply the NHT type of cooperative learning model? (4) How is thoroughness the studying result test of the students in learning who apply the NHT type of cooperative learning model? (5) How the response of the students upon the studying activity that use the NHT of cooperative learning model? The main aim of this study is to describe the result of applying the NHT type of cooperative learning model with the main topic is Energy and Effort to the eighth grades student at SMP Swasta Beringin Kupang academic year 2013/2014. Detaily, the aims of this study are (1) Describe the teacher capability in managing learning process that use the NHT type of cooperative studying model. (2) Describe the cooperative skill of the student in studying activity who apply the NHT type of cooperative studying model. (3) Describe thoroughness the studying result indicator of the students who apply the NHT type of cooperative studying model. (4) Describe thoroughness the studying result test of the students who apply the NHT type of cooperative studying model. (5) Describe the response of the students upon the studying activity that use the NHT type of cooperative studying model. The type of this research is descriptive research. The subjects of the research are the teacher (researcher) and eighth grades students at SMP Swasta Beringin Kupang academic year 2013/2014, that are 14 student. Techniques used for collecting data are observation, test and the questionnaire. While the instruments of this research are the sheet of observation on studying management, the sheet of observation on cooperative skill, studying result test (product, affection and psychomotor), and the sheet of students response. The technique used in analyzing the research's result is quantitative, which include mean score, proportion and percentage. According to the descriptive analyze result, the research data show that generally the application of the application of the NHT type of cooperative learning model with the main topic is Energy and Effort to the eighth grades student at SMP Swasta Beringin Kupang, academic year 2013/2014 that are 14 student is optimal.
