Abstract

One of the causes of the low learning outcomes of students is the activity of students in following the less biological learning. Where the lack of enthusiasm for students to learn, students are less serious in paying attention to the explanations given by teachers. One way to improve student learning outcomes is to apply innovative learning models. This study aims to determine the effect of applying cooperative learning model type Student Teams Achievement Division and Numbered Heads Together to the results of biology of students of class X in SMA Negeri 3 Kupang Academic Year 2017/2018. The sample of this research is the students of class X MIA 1 which applied STAD type cooperative learning model and X class MIA 2 student applied cooperative learning model of NHT type. The type of research used is quantitative with Quasi Experiment method. The design used is non equivalent pretest-posttest Control Group Design. Data collection techniques used are observations and tests of learning outcomes. Data analysis used is descriptive and inferential statistic analysis by using t test. The results showed that in the model of cooperative learning type STAD average completeness of student learning outcomes increased from 57 to 77.17, classically complete (100%), average kentutasan indicator is 0.80, average score of student activity is 88 , 06, mean score of teacher ability in learning that is 97,74 whereas in cooperative learning model of NHT type, the average of students' learning result completeness increase from 60 to 80,67, classically complete (100%), mean of indicator kentutasan namely 0.85, the average score of student activity is 90.3, the average score of the teacher's ability in learning is 97.33. In general, the two models of this learning effect on student learning outcomes are characterized by the results of t test analysis with Paired Sample t-test showed that the type of STAD obtained tcount test> ttable is 15.009> 2.042 and the type of NHT tcount> ttable is 16.082 > 2.042 with sig level. 0.05. and there are also differences in learning outcomes shown through t test results with the Independent Sample t-test technique with a tcount of 2,296> ttable 2,000. From the results of the above research can be concluded that both of these learning models affect the student learning outcomes.
