Abstract
Mangrove is a complex ecosystem composed of flora and fauna of coastal areas, living and habitat land and sea, between the boundary and low-tide. Increased human needs caused many mangrove forests that have been damaged as a result of society activities in coastal areas, such as logging to the opening of residential areas, construction of hotels, restaurants, shops, etc. Activities like this besides causing damage to mangrove forests can also affect the distribution pattern of mangrove species exist. Kupang Bay has a coastal region is rich enough resources, one of which is a mangrove forest. This research relates to the distribution pattern of mangrove species in coastal Paradiso, Kupang Bay. The experiment was conducted in May until June 2016 The purpose of this study was to determine the distribution pattern of mangrove species. The method used in this research is the method of Chi-squared with quadrant shape rectangle measuring 10 x 10 m. The important data collected in this study is the kind of distribution pattern. The distribution pattern was analyzed by testing the observed data with expected data through a calculation of the chi- square (X2). The results showed that there are seven species of mangrove plants in the Coast Paradiso, Kupang Bay and dominated by Sonneratia alba, caseolaris Sonneratia, Rhizophora mucronata, Avicennia marina, Avicennia alba Blume, whereas other types are rarely found as Ceriops tagal and Bruguiera sexangula. The most dominant mangrove species is Sonneratia alba. Environmental factors that influence the growth of mangroves on the location of the research is the ambient temperature, salinity. Temperatures on any research plots ranging between 230 C - 28 ° C while the salinity in each plot research data showed salinity range between 0.5‰ - 25.5‰. The distribution pattern of mangrove species in the Coast Paradiso, Kupang Bay are clustered.
