While the number of subject was 21 students. In collecting data, the writer gave one song. The song is Fight Song. The result of the data analysis shows that the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Kupang are able to complete and fill the missing words when listening to the English songs. Their level of ability is “Very Good” (9.71). Besides, it can be seen that there were 12 students (57.14%) at excellent level, 6 students (28.57%) at very good level, 2 students (9.24%) at fairly good level, and 1 student (4.76%) at below average level. Based on the result above, the writer could suggest the following things (1) the English teachers should be creative in teaching listening and they should balance all skills they have taught, not only paying attention to the reading skill but also to listening, speaking, and writing. (2) The English teacher should teach vocabulary, because some of the students still feel in listening the similar sound of words/vocabularies. (3) The students, should increase their listening ability by listening to English songs, conversation, broadcastings so they can learn more words/vocabularies. (4) Other researchers can do the research on listening again but different title of the song.
