Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is effect of critical thinking ability of mathematics and mathematical communication ability to student's mathematics learning achievement on the subject of Theorem Phytagoras Class VIII SMP Angkasa Kupang academic year 2017/2018 which amounted to 41 people. The data used in this research is the data of the achievement of learning and questionnaire/questionnaire. The data obtained were analyzed using SPSS version 22 program. Prior to hypothesis testing, prerequisite test was performed on normality test for achievement data and questionnaire or questionnaire. In this case if the calculation results show significant (2-tailed) < 0.05 H0 is rejected. From the results of data analysis achievement obtained Asymp.Sig value. (2-tailed) = 0.095 > 0.05 then H0 is accepted, thus it is concluded that the data is normally distributed. Whereas from the questionnaire data of mathematical critical thinking ability, the value of Asymp Sig (2-tailed) = 0,200 > 0,05, then H0 is received and from the questionnaire data of mathematical communication ability obtained by Asymp Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,200 > 0,05 then H0 is accepted thus it is concluded that the data is normally distributed. Multiple linear regression equation from result of research that is Y = -20,907 + 1,269 X1 + 0,444 X2. Hypothesis test using partial test, after data of critical thinking ability analyzed obtained tcount = 2,494 ≥ 1,685 = ttable and significant value in critical thinking ability 0.017 math < 0,05 then H0 accepted, which means critical mathematical thinking ability significantly effect on learning achievement mathematics students. While the data of mathematical communication ability is analyzed obtained tcount = 5,028 ≥ 1,685 = ttable with significant value = 0,000 < 0,05 then H0 accepted, which means the ability of mathematics communication have a significant effect to student's mathematics learning achievement. Hypothesis testing using simultaneous test, after the data were analyzed obtained sig value (2-tailed) = 0,000 < 0,05 and Fcount = 34,503 > 3,24 = Ftable then receive H0. So it is concluded that there is a significant effect of critical thinking ability of mathematics and the ability of mathematical communication to student's mathematics learning achievement subject matter Phytagoras Theorem VIII grade SMP Angkasa Kupang academic year 2017/2018.
