Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the profile of senior high school students mathematics intelectual in solving the problem based on cognitive style. The cognitive style in this research is field independent and field dependent. Kind of this research is descriptive research by using qualitative approach. Subject in this research as much as 2 person, this is 1 student with cognitive style field independent and 1 student with cognitive style field dependent. Subject was choosen by using cognitive style Group Embedded Figure Test (GEFT). This the reserch gave problem solving task (TPM) linear programming subject. The result showed that students with field independent cognitive style had high comprehension ability filled 6 indicators of intelectual, while the student with field dependent cognitive style had low intelectual comperhesion ability, because the low intelectual just filled 3 indicators of intelectual.
