Abstract

Thesis title: The Effectiveness of Using Cognitive Restructuring Thechiques Through Group Counseling Services to Reduc Students’Anxiety In Facing Exams. The problems studied in this thesis are: (1) why cognitive restructuring techniques through group counseling services to reduce students’ anxiety in facing exams? (2) what are the procdures for using cognitive restructuring techniques through group counesling services to reduce students’ anxiety in facing exams? (3) wheter the use of cognitive restructuring techniques through group counesling services is effective in reducing students’ anxiety in facing exams. The research objectives of this thesis are: (1) knowing the reasons for using cognitive restructuring techniques through group counseing services to reduce student anxiety in facing exams (2) knowing the procedures for cognitive restructuring techiques through group couneslin services to reduce student anxiety in facing exams (3) determine the effectiveness of cognitive restructuring techniques throuh group counseling services to reduce method. The object of the study is cognitve restructuring techniques. Group counesling services, and the ability to face exams. The data source used in this thesis is a secondary data source. This type of data is a type of qualitative data. The results of the study show that cognitive restructuring techniques are related to packaging in facing exams, because understanding the objectives of cognitive restructuring through group counseing services is carried out in four stages, namely the pre-couneling stage. The initial stage, the transition stage, the work stage consisting of the rational stage, identivication of the counselee’s thoughts in problem situations, recognition and practice, moving from negative thoughts to coping thoughts, recognition and positive reinforcement exercises, homework and follow-up. Final stage. Cogitive restructuring techniques in group counesling services are effective for rducing students’ anxiety in facing exams as proven from previous research articles that are relevant to the topic of this thesis. Based on the results of this thesis study, the reseaarchers give suggesions to (1) guidance and counseling teachers are wxpected to increase their knowledge and skills to be more effective in using cognitive restructuring techniques through self- help counseling services to reduce students’ intelligence in facing exams (2) researchers are expected to deepen their knowledge so that they are more skilled at using cognitive restructuring techniques through group counseing services to reduce students’ anxiety in facing exams.
