Abstract

This research aims to determine the types of errors made by class XI student at SMA Negeri 9 kupang city in solving problems based on the error category according to Watson. This research uses a discriptive qualitative method. Data collection was carried out at SMA Negeri 9 kupang city in class XI IIS 1. Data collection techniques in this study used test and interview methods. Data analysis teqniques are carried out by reducing data, presenting data and veryfing data. In this research, researchers found error made by students in solving sequence problems bassed on the error category according to Watson, but not all subjects made mistakes based on eight indicators according to Watson. The result of the research showed that subjec 1 (RSD) response level conflict (rlc), innacurate data (id) indirect manipulation (um), inappropriate procedure (ip), skills hierarchy problem (shp), response level conflict (rlc), Subject 2 (CDR) made a mistake in the undirected manipulation category (um), inappropriate data (ip), skills hierarchy problem (shp), inappropriate procedure (ip) and omitted conclusion (oc) and subject 3 (INL) made mistakes in the categories undirected manipulation (um), inappropriate data (ip), skills hierarchy problem (shp) and omitted conclusion (oc)
