Abstract

This study aims to overcome acne problems experienced by people with a limited number of experts. This causes the community to have difficulties in conducting acne consultations. In addition, there are experts or doctors whose practice hoursare still limited. The solution to this problem is by designing an expert system application for diagnosing acne with a web-based certainty factor method. System development method used is the Expert System Life Cycle. The stages of the ESLC method are analyzing system requirements, gathering knowledge that will be usedas a knowledge base, making system flow designs, conducting system testing, evaluating systems and carring out system maintenance. In designing this system using the PHP programming language with MYSQL database and the certainty factor. The result of this research is an expert system application for diagnosing web-based acne with the certainty factor method. With the application of this expert system can help the public and doctors in diagnosing acne and the solutionas well as knowing all the information related to acne.
