Abstract

This thesis is entitled: The Role of the NTT Province Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Service Center (BP3MI) in the Delivery and Placement of Indonesian Migrant Workers Abroad. The main problem in this research is the role of BP3MI NTT in ensuring the safe and legal process of sending and placing Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI). Thus, the aim of this research is to find out the role of BP3MI NTT in sending and placing Indonesian migrant workers (PMI), and how it is implemented in the field. This research uses theory according to Soekanto (2001:242), where there are three indicators of the role of BP3MI NTT, namely Active Role, Participatory Role, and Passive Role. To obtain an overview of the role of BP3MI NTT in sending and placing Indonesian migrant workers abroad, the author conducted research using qualitative descriptive research methods. Primary data sources were obtained directly from informants, while secondary data sources were obtained through books and official documents from the BP3MI NTT Office and agencies related to this research. The informants in this research are the Head of BP3MI NTT, employees, and Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI). Based on the research results, it shows that BP3MI NTT plays a role in providing training, information and administrative assistance to prospective PMIs, as well as collaborating with various related parties to ensure security. and welfare of PMI. Apart from that, BP3MI also faces various challenges, such as limited resources and coordination between institutions. In conclusion, the role of BP3MI NTT is vital in protecting and improving the quality of life of PMI, but further efforts are needed to overcome existing obstacles and strengthen cross-sector collaboration.
