Abstract

The research was titled "Analysis of the Influence of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) Growth, Human Development Index, Population Growth and Literacy Rate on Poverty Levels in East Nusa Tenggara Province". Under the guidance of Supervisor I Mr. Adrianus Ketmoen, SE., MM and Supervisor II Mrs. Emiliana Martuti Lawalu, SE., ME. Poverty is a problem in multidimensional economic development where this problem requires attention and countermeasures gradually that are consistent both by the local government and the central government. Poverty is influenced by several causal factors, including gross regional domestic product (GRDP), human development index, population and literacy rate. The purpose of the study is to determine the influence of GRDP growth, human development index, population number and literacy rate on poverty rates in East Nusa Tenggara Province. This study is a quantitative research using secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of East Nusa Tenggara Province using the time period from 2013 to 2023. The method used in this study is the panel data regression method. The results of the study showed that in the partial test t, the GRDP variable and the population number variable had a negative and significant effect on the poverty rate in East Nusa Tenggara Province while the human development index variable and literacy rate had a significant negative effect on the poverty rate in East Nusa Tenggara Province. In the simultaneous test f, the variables of gross regional domestic product (GRDP), human development index, population and literacy rate have a significant simultaneous (overall) effect on the poverty rate in East Nusa Tenggara Province from 2013 to 2023. Then, the determination coefficient test showed that the contribution of independent variables to the dependent variables simultaneously (overall) was 99.4% while the remaining 0.6% was influenced by other variables outside this study.
