Abstract
This research aims to describe the preparation of contextual teaching materials based on flipbooks on temperature and heat materials with material development and validation models as well as product design development of teaching materials using 4-D models. This is developmental research. Validation of the flipbook media instrument was carried out by two validators, namely a material expert and a media expert. Aspects assessed by material expert validators are content appropriateness aspects, presentation appropriateness aspects, linguistic aspects and aspects assessed by media expert validators are size aspects, cover design aspects, content design aspects, layout aspects, typography aspects, as well as illustration and image aspects. . The results obtained are the product of developing open materials in the form of a flipbook. Meanwhile, the validity test results obtained a total average validation (RTVTK) of 3.01 for flipbook material and 3.34 for flipbook media design. The validator's comments on the material aspect include improving the presentation of the material to make reading easier, while the media aspect adds examples of questions, competency tests, and competency test answer keys.
