Abstract

This thesis is entitled THE ROLE OF VILLAGE GOVERNMENT AS CONTROLLING FOREIGN CULTURAL INTRUSION TO YOUTH LIFESTYLE IN SANDOSI VILLAGE, WITIHAMA DISTRICT, EAST FLORES DISTRICT. Problem The main thing being researched is the role of the village government as a controller of foreign cultural intrusion into the lifestyle of teenagers in Sandosi Village, Witihama District, East Flores Regency. The aim is to describe the village government's control over the intrusion of foreign culture into the lifestyle of teenagers in Sandosi Village, Witihama District, East Flore Regency. The method used is a descriptive method, to explain the role of the village government as a controller of foreign cultural intrusion in Sandosi Village. The primary data sources are informants, while secondary data are documents related to research variables. Data collection techniques used; interviews, observations, and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis stage was carried out by collecting data and then analyzing it in depth to solve the problem being studied using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The results of this research show the role of the government in controlling foreign cultural intrusion which regulates people's behavior or actions which are divided into two aspects, namely the principles of recognition and subsidiarity. The principle of recognition of the village's right to make regulations to regulate community actions relating to customs or cultural traditions regulations made by the village government in governing the community. Now the people of Sandosi Village already have a traditional institutional structure that regulates the customs in Sandosi Village. Meanwhile, the principle of subsidiarity determines local school authority and local decision making for the benefit of the village community and to promote local independence, community participation and decision making based on the needs and interests of local communities. The village government only issued regulations regarding study hours to accommodate young people in the current developments so that young people can sort out what is good and bad when influenced by foreign culture.
