Abstract

This skripsi is entitled “Empowering Women in Managing Fish Catches in Lamahala Jaya Village, East Adonara District, East Flores Regency." As for the internal background study This is what reveals the uncertain economic situation of the family that makes women fishermen participate actively in helping her husband support the family economy. The difficulty of fishermen in meeting their living needs means that women must be ready to work to help fulfill the family's economy. This is why it is important to empower women as an effort to improve their welfare. The aim of this research is to find out how women are empowered to manage fish catches in Lamahala Jaya Village, East Adonara District, East Flores Regency. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. Using the research method, data triangulation is the result of observation, interviews and documentation. The research results reveal that women's empowerment in Lamahala Jaya Village is the dry fish production business. The women form groups with the help of fishermen or their husbands in collecting money as capital to run a dried fish business. The result of cooperation and tenacity between female fishermen is success empowering women in the business of processing dried fish to meet their daily needs.
