Abstract

Lodok Cancar Rice Fields in Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, is a unique cultural and natural tourism destination, renowned for its spiderweb-shaped rice field patterns that reflect the local community’s indigenous wisdom. Despite its high tourism potential, the area still lacks adequate supporting facilities such as accommodations, restaurants, and recreational areas, which limits visitor comfort and length of stay. This study aims to formulate a planning and design concept for a villa resort based on green architecture, in harmony with the natural landscape, local culture, and environmental sustainability principles. The concept is expected to contribute positively to environmental conservation while enhancing the quality of tourism in the region. The expected outcome of this research is the development of a resort design concept that can accommodate the needs of tourists without disrupting the ecological balance or diminishing the local cultural values. The application of green architecture principles is anticipated to support the sustainable development of tourism in the Sawah Lodok Cancar area in a holistic manner.
