Abstract

A conductor is a leader who leads a music group, by giving meaning to the musical work by regulating the dynamics, tempo, musical expression and leading the music group to produce a good performance. The problems in this study are (1) How is the process of learning the 2/4 rhythm pattern in the song of remembrance for the children in the region 7 of the parish of Saint Peter the Apostle (2) What are the difficulties faced by the children in learning the 2/4 rhythm pattern in the song of remembrance. The objectives of this research are (1) To find out the learning process of the 2/4 rhythm pattern in the song of memory (2) To find out the difficulties and how to overcome in learning the rhythm pattern of the 2/4 rhythm pattern in the song of memory. The approach in this study is a qualitative approach with the Imitation method and the Drill method. The techniques used for data collection are observation, interviews, and documentation. The data obtained either as a result of observation, interviews, recorded or documented is then analyzed in the form of a final report. The results of the study show that learning the technique of directing the 2/4 rhythm pattern in the song of reminiscence in children in region 7 begins with a theoretical explanation of the conductor, the technique practice of directing starting from the preliminary movement, the movement of ending the song, the body position, the attitude of the conductor's hands. Next, practice the 2/4, 3/4, 4/4 rhythm pattern, after that focus on the 2/4 rhythm pattern while singing a memory song. In the learning process, the researcher observed various kinds of difficulties experienced by our children. The problem includes various things that the researcher explains during the training process and to overcome the problems faced, the researcher gives directions and gives examples repeatedly and then the child at the same time imitates what has been exemplified by the researcher. This can be proven through the final presentation of the children as we directed each person's memory song. Based on the results of the above research, it can be concluded that the children in our class have been able to direct the song to remember the 2/4 rhythm pattern well, although there are some movements that still need more attention but can be overcome through field action.
