Abstract

This research was written by Richard Yonathan Leki (31121035) from the Development Economics Study Program, under the guidance of Br. Salomon Leki, S.E., M.Ec. Dev as Supervisor 1 and Mrs. Agnes Susanti Indrawati, SE.ME as Supervisor 2. The research is titled "Determinants of Natural Dye-Based Woven Fabric Craft Businesses in Fatubenao Village." The study aims to analyze the determinants of natural dye-based woven fabric craft businesses in Fatubenao Village, Belu Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, with a focus on factors influencing production efficiency. The research method employs a quantitative approach using Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) to measure technical efficiency. Data was collected through questionnaires, interviews, and documentation from 60 artisans across five weaving groups in Fatubenao Village. Input variables include business capital, raw materials, labor, production tools, and production time, while the output variable is the production output of woven fabric. The results indicate an average technical efficiency of 0.84, suggesting there is still a 16% opportunity for efficiency improvement. Variables such as raw materials, labor, and production time have a positive and significant impact on production output, while business capital and production tools have a negative but still significant influence. Interactions between variables also affect production efficiency, such as the positive synergy between raw materials and labor, and the negative impact of combining business capital and production time. The study recommends optimizing resource utilization, providing skill training for artisans, and government support in supplying capital and raw materials to enhance production efficiency. These findings can serve as a reference for artisans and policymakers in developing natural dye-based woven fabric craft businesses in Fatubenao Village.
