Abstract

This thesis is entitled "Interpersonal Communication Patterns of Mechanics and Racers in Motorcycle Racing Events at Lanud Road Racing (Case Study of the Karunia Motor Team and Friends at Lanud Penful). In this case, interpersonal communication is the process of exchanging formal and informal information between two or more people directly or face-to-face, allowing for immediate feedback. Interpersonal communication between mechanics and racers is certainly essential for conveying information, building relationships, trust, and understanding between individuals. The concept in this study is regarding the interpersonal communication model carried out by mechanics and racers in an event. To discuss this study, the author uses a case study research method with a qualitative descriptive type. In this study, the author obtained research data through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of this study explain that interpersonal communication patterns between mechanics and racers in motorcycle racing events at Lanud Road Race have a significant influence on improving team performance. The established communication not only functions as a medium for conveying instructions and strategies, but also becomes a tool for building emotional bonds between mechanics and racers. This strong relationship plays a role in creating a sense of mutual trust, mutual support, and high motivation among team members. Suggestions for future researchers are to conduct a more in-depth case study to explain how interpersonal communication patterns between mechanics and road racers can influence team performance.
