Abstract
Thesis Title: The influence of parental support on the learning achievement of class VIII students of UPTD State Middle Schoo l11 Kupang in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The problem of this research is whether there is influence of parental support on the learning achievement of class VIII students at UPTD State Middle School 11 Kupang in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. This study aims to determine the influence of parental support on the learning achievement of class VIII students of UPTD State Middle School 11 Kupang in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The type of research is descriptive quantitative with the independent variable of parental support (X) and the variable of learning achievement attachment (Y). The population of the study was 311 class VIII students and the research sample was 60 students. The sampling technique was simple random sampling. Data collection tools in the form of parental support questionnaires and document study sheets (odd semester report card scores). The data analysis technique used simple linear regression. The results of the study showed: (1) the calculated tvalue > ttable (3.008 > 1.672) with a significance of 0.004 < 0.05, (2) the calculated Fvalue > Ftable (9.050 > 4.007) with a significance of 0.004 < 0.05 and an R Square value of 0.135. These results prove that there is a significant influence of parental support on student learning achievement with a contribution of 13.5%, while 86.5% is influenced by other variables. Suggestions are given to: a) Principals, are expected to be able to design educational strategies and establish cooperation with parents in an effort to improve student learning achievement. b) Guidance and counseling teachers, are expected to be able to create programs, such as regular meetings with parents and home visits, in an effort to increase parental awareness of their role in providing support to students for the sake of improving learning achievement. c) Parents, are expected to be able to be more active in providing support and creating a comfortable learning atmosphere at home so that students are more enthusiastic in learning. d) Students, are expected to be able to utilize parental support in achieving optimal learning achievement. e) Future researchers are expected to use the results of this study as a reference for further research by developing other variables.
