Abstract

Thesis title: Profile of juvenile delinquency among eighth grade students at UPTD SMP Negeri 16 Kupang in the 2024/2025 academic year and its implications for personal social guidance programs. The problems in this study are (1) what is the profile of juvenile delinquency among eighth-grade students at UPTD SMP Negeri 16 Kupang in the 2024/2025 academic year, and (2) what are the implications of the profile of juvenile delinquency among eighth-grade students at UPTD SMP Negeri 16 Kupang in the 2024/2025 academic year. The objectives of this study are to determine: (1) the profile of juvenile delinquency among eighth-grade students at UPTD SMP Negeri 16 Kupang in the 2024/2025 academic year, (2) the implications of the profile of juvenile delinquency among eighth-grade students at UPTD SMP Negeri 16 Kupang in the 2024/2025 academic year for the personal social guidance program. This study used a quantitative descriptive method and collected data using a juvenile delinquency questionnaire. Data analysis techniques used central tendency formulas. The research sample consisted of 28 students in class VIII A at UPTD SMP Negeri 16 Kupang in the 2024/2025 academic year. The results of the study show that the average score of 154.21 is between the score range of 147-180, which is in the very high category. Thus, it can be concluded that students in class VIII A of UPTD SMP Negeri 16 Kupang in the 2024/2025 academic year are involved in juvenile delinquency. Recommendations are given to: (1) The principal, who is expected to improve cooperation with guidance counselors in supporting personal social guidance programs to address juvenile delinquency among students, (2) Guidance and counseling teachers, who are expected to be more proactive in implementing personal social guidance services to address the problem of juvenile delinquency among students, (3) Students are expected to play an active role in personal social guidance activities organized by guidance counselors so that they can understand various forms of juvenile delinquency and thus avoid them.
