Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the ability of students ' mathematical problem solving in matrix material to be reviewed by gender. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subject of this study was 2 students from class X to 1 (one) semester of the 2019/2020 school year. The subject is selected based on the middle semester value of the students who have the highest proficiency in SMA KI HAJAR DEWANTORO. Data analysis techniques include, written test result data and interviews, analysed from written test results and interview results, then drawn conclusions. The results of the discussion can be concluded that the profile of the mathematical problem solving skills of high school students on the Matrix material is reviewed based on the gender of 4 problem solving capability indicators, the highest ability male and female students can solve the problem correctly and can pass through all stages, from understanding problems, planning, completing planning, and making conclusions well.
