Abstract

The success of regional development can be seen from the level of economic growth. High and sustainable economic growth is the main condition for the continuity of economic development. Non-economic components such as population growth, labor growth and the ratio of the burden of population dependence on economic growth. Population growth can encourage economic growth, but it can also be a barrier to economic growth. If the demographic rate of population is not well controlled it is feared to have a significant impact on regional production. The formulation of the problem in this study are 1) What is the effect of population growth, labor growth and the ratio of the burden of partial population dependents on economic growth in the city of Kupang? 2) How does the effect of population growth, labor growth and the ratio of the burden of population dependents simultaneously on economic growth in the city of Kupang ?. The objectives in this study are 1) to analyze the effect of population growth, labor growth and the ratio of population dependent load partially affecting economic growth in the city of Kupang. 2) to analyze the effect of population growth, labor growth and the ratio of the burden of the population's burden simultaneously to economic growth in the city of Kupang. The type of data used is time series data, namely 2011-2018. For the process of data analysis using multiple linear regression analysis with population growth (X1), labor growth (X2), ratio of population dependent burden (X3) and economic growth (Y). Data collection methods using library research and documentation. In this study the data were processed using SPSS 20, namely with four classic assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and determination test (R2). From the results of the study it can be concluded that the results of the t test or partially population growth variables have a positive and not significant effect on economic growth, labor growth variables have a positive and significant effect on economic growth, and the population dependent load ratio variable has a positive and not significant effect on economic growth . F test results or simultaneously variable population growth, labor growth and the ratio of the burden of the burden of the population significantly influence economic growth in the city of Kupang. The results of the Deternation Coefficient (R2) were 0.875, or 8.75%. While the remaining -12.5% is influenced by other variables not included in this study.
