Abstract

Every retail company, including Metro Swalayan, is required to make the right decisions in marketing strategies by looking at consumer spending patterns. But, Sales of goods at Metro Swalayan often experience problems due to irregular levels of consumer spending. Setting the position of the Metro Swalayan product only uses management's subjectivity in arranging goods in the supermarket and has not looked at the behavior of consumer spending patterns. Therefore, this study aims to design a system by applying the Apriori algorithm that can process large amounts of data to find consumer spending patterns. Based on the Rule that is formed, it will help the supermarket to organize goods better. The data used is sales transaction data during 2019. Based on testing of transaction data with a minimum support of 2% and a minimum confidence 2%, one of the rules formed in the system forms a rule, “If consumers buy tepung hunkwe special p, bimoli klasik 1lt pouch then buy gula halus segi tiga emas’ with a support value of 2.1% and a confidence value of 98.65%.
