Abstract

This paper aims to describe the difference between online learning and offline learning in learning mathematics. The online learning method is a learning method that provides opportunities for students to be able to study independently through the internet. Furthermore, the offline learning method is a very effective method to do for students who do not have internet devices or their internet devices are not well connected. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the differences between these two learning methods are: 1.Internet Network Online learning really needs an internet network, without it online learning activities will not run well. Therefore, the internet network is the main and first requirement in online learning. However, online learning is not the case, this process does not involve the internet at all. Offline learning will continue to run without the help of the internet network. 2.Space and Time Limits Online learning can be done anytime and anywhere as long as it is connected to the main thing, namely the internet. Both students and teachers are not limited by space and time so this learning is more flexible. But in offline learning, all students and teachers must meet face-to-face, so it requires a special place and time. That way, offline learning requires the same space and time for a learning process to occur, the boundaries of space and time are very clear in this model. 3.Third Party Online learning requires a third party as a liaison for all learning participants such as platforms, applications or other things. Without this third party, online learning cannot run even though the internet already exists. On the other hand, offline learning does not require a third party, instead there is a time and space limit for meeting face to face. So, it can be interpreted that the platform or application for online learning is a space and time for offline learning.
