Abstract

This research aims to know : how the use of learning models is, how students' mathematical problem solving abilities are and whether there is an effect of problem-based learning models in online learning settings on students' mathematical problem solving abilities on the subject matter of cubes and blocks in junior high school. The sample in this research were students of class VIIIA SMPK St.Yoseph Naikoten, totaling 22 people. The data used in this study are pretest and posttest value data. The data obtained were analyzed using the SPSS version 22.0 program. Before testing the hypothesis, a prerequisite test was conducted, namely the normality test for the pretest and posttest data. From the results of the analysis obtained the value of Sig.(2-tailed) = 0.000. While t count = 39,632, with df = n-1, obtained df = 21 with a significant level /2 = 0.025 obtained ttable = 2.080. Sig.(2-tailed)=0.000 < 0.05 and tcount=39.632 > ttable=2.080. then H0 is accepted, thus concluded that the data is normally distributed. Testing the hypothesis using a paired sample test, after the data was analyzed the value of Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 < 0.05 and tcount = 24,427 > ttable = 2,074 then rejected H0, so it was concluded that there was a significant effect of problem-based learning models in online learning settings. on students' mathematical problem solving abilities on the subject matter of cubes and blocks at SMPK St. Yoseph Naikoten for the 2020/2021 academic year.
