Abstract
The title of this thesis: The effectiveness of using self management techniques through group guidance to improve student learning discipline. The problem in this research is: (1) Why the use of self management techniques through group guidance needs to be given to improve student learning discipline? (2) What is the steps for using self management techniques through group guidance to improve student learning discipline? (3) Is the use of self management techniques through group guidance effective for improving student learning discipline? The purpose of this research is to find out: (1) Reasons for using self management techniques through group guidance to improve student learning discipline. (2) Step by step use of self management techniques through group guidance to improve student learning discipline. (3) The effecctiveness of using self management techniques through group guidance to improve student learning discipline. The method of study in this research is literature study. The object of study is in the form of self management techniques, group guidance and study discipline. Source of data, in the form of secondary data. The type of data in the form of qualitative data. The results of the discussion are as follows: The reasons for using self management techniquescan help counselees change negative behavior (form lack of discipline in learning) and develop positive behaviors (thoughts, feelings and actions) about him self and his interactions with environmental events. The steps for using self management techniques through group guidance to improve student learning discipline following the stages of group guidance, namely: stage of formation, stage of transition, stage of activity and stage of termination, at the stage of activities the counselor facilitates the counselee to improve learning discipline using self management techniques with the following stage: self monitoring stage or self observation stage, self evaluation stage and the stage of providing reinforcement for elimination and punishment. The effectiveness of using self management techniques through group guidance to improve student learning discipline, the suport by research of Rahmawati (2019) and Febrianti (2018). Starting from the discussion above, the researcher gives advice to (1) Guidance and counseling teachers are expected to deepen their knowledge, understanding and insigeht into self management techniques through group guidance to help improve student learning discipline. (2) For researchers, are expected to be able to increase knowledge, understanding and skills in applying self management techniques to improve student learning discipline.
