Abstract
The ability to sing with dynamic techniques is an important thing that aims to regulate the loudness of the sound pressure in the choir. One of the classifications of the choir is the unison choir. Unisono Choir is a choir that sings the same melody from beginning to end. However, the reality in this research is that the students of class XI SMA Seminary St. Rafael Oepoi Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara has not applied dynamic techniques in singing. The formulation of the proplem in this study is how the process of applying dynamic techniques to the Unisono choir in singing the song Ordinarium Agnus Dei Misa Sta. Beatrix (Ernest P. Tandayu”s work) with the drill method on class XI students of SMA Seminary St. Rafael Oepoi Kupang. Ths study aims to determine the effectiveness of the drill method as an effort to apply dynamic techniques to the Unisono choir in singing the song Ordinarium Agnus Dei Misa Sta. Beatrix (Ernest P. Tandayu”s work) in class XI students of St. Rafael Seminary High School, Oepoi Kupang. The method used in this research is the Field Action Method with the type of research is qualitative research. The learning method applied in this research is the Drill Method. Data Collection techniques are carried out trough observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that in an effort to apply dynamic techniques in singing, the researchers carried out research in 3 stages, namely the initial stage of recruiting members of class XI SMA Seminary St. Rafael Oepoi Kupang. The researcher’s core stage explained material on vocal dynamics techniques, then continued with etude-etude exercises on the application of dynamic signs such as piano (p), mezzopiano (mp), mezzoforte (mf), forte (f), crescendo (), singing model songs, training participants to sing etude and model songs using dynamic signs and the final stage of the performance. This research was conducted in 10 meetings. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the class ix students of SMA Seminary St. Rafael, Oepoi Kupang, can sing the song Ordinarium Agnus Dei Misa Sta. Betarix (Ernest P. Tandayu’s work) by using dynamics that are quite good. Although there are several obstacles, researchs can overcome these obstacles buy using the drill method by giving exercises repeatedly.
