Abstract
Development in the field of education is directed and aims to develop the quality of human resources. School effectiveness indicates the ability of educational institutions to empower and optimize all potentials to ensure the quality of human resources. This study aims to explain (1) respondents' responses to the principal's leadership, teacher performance, school committees role, school climate, and school effectiveness at SMK Negeri 1 Kupang; (2) the partial influence of principal leadership, teacher performance, school committees, and school climate on the effectiveness of SMK Negeri 1 Kupang; (3) the simultaneous influence of principal leadership, teacher performance, school committees role, and school climate on the effectiveness of SMK Negeri 1 Kupang. This study uses quantitative methods. The population in this study were all teachers at SMK Negeri 1 Kupang totaling 138 people; a sample of 103 people, determined using probability random sampling technique. The main technique of collecting research data is using questionnaires, interview techniques, and observation to obtain qualitative data as a complement to quantitative data. The research data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques with a significance level of 5% (0.05). The results of the research data analysis showed that the respondents' responses to the principal's leadership with very good criteria (84.13%), teacher performance with very good criteria (80.11%), school committees role with good criteria (72.69%), school climate with good criteria (77.09%), and school effectiveness including good criteria (77.04%); The results of the t-test showed that the principal's leadership had a significant effect (0.000<0.05), teacher performance had a significant effect (0.000<0.05), school committees role had a significant effect (0.000<0.05), school climate had a significant effect (0.000<0,05). The results of the F test showed that four independent variables had a significant effect on the effectiveness of SMK Negeri 1 Kupang (0.000 <0.05). The results of the coefficient of determination indicate that the four independent variables contribute to the influence of 66.70%. Based on the results of the study, it is suggested to the principal of SMK Negeri 1 Kupang to pay more attention to the factors of the principal's leadership, teacher performance, school committees role, and school climate to be improved because these factors are proven to affect the level of school effectiveness.
