Abstract

Pianika is a wind instrument that works as a harmonica working principle, namely by blowing it, but getting a variety of notes is regulated by tone pressure on the toneboard blades like a piano instrument toneboard. How to play the piano music instrument is the left hand holding the piano and the right hand pressing to play the melody of the song, while the mouth blows the hose to produce sound. Pianika is one of the school musical instruments that is mandatory in learning at the junior high and high school level and is usually developed through extracurricular activities in the form of exercises. In a study entitled "Efforts to introduce the basic technique of fingering a piano musical instrument with the Ibu Kita Kartini song model through the imitation and drill method for students of interest in music at SMPN Satap 2 Soa", the researcher formulated the problem that became the focus of the research, namely, how to introduce the basic techniques of playing piano by using imitation and drill methods for students interested in music at SMPN Satap 2 Soa. This study aims to identify and introduce the basic techniques of playing piano using imitation and drill methods to students with an interest in music at SMPN Satap 2 Soa. This study uses qualitative methods, the method used is field action research with data collection techniques used, namely library research and field studies consisting of observations, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the process of learning the piano instrument was carried out for nine meetings, namely: the first recruitment meeting, providing material about the piano instrument, and introducing the piano instrument. The second meeting provided material on the technique of playing the piano and playing natural C scales, the third meeting played simple notation, the fourth meeting played interval fingering, the fifth meeting played the etude of fingering according to the value of the notes on the song, the sixth meeting played part one of the song, the seventh meeting played song part two, the eighth meeting played part one and part two at the same time, the ninth meeting provided an opportunity for students to perform research results. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that in the process of introducing the basic techniques of playing the piano music instrument using the imitation and drill method to students of interest in music at SMPN Satap 2 Soa in the process the students experienced difficulties related to the basic techniques of playing the piano. However, this can be overcome by the method that has been given, namely the imitation method, namely the researcher gives an example and the students repeat it and the drill method, which is doing the exercise repeatedly so that the students can play well in the end.
