Abstract
Tebe dance comes from the district of Malacca. Tebe means Tandak, Tandak is a social dance that will generally be performed by male and female dancers. This danceisusually danced during traditional house events or other traditional events suchas at wedding ceremonies. Tebe dance is an overflow of joy over success or victory wheremen and women join hands while singing in unison singing poems and rhymes(kananuk) which contain praise, criticism or requests, while stamping their feet according to the rhythm and song. This tebe dance is performed at night, in ancient times the "Meo" returned from the battlefield carrying the enemy's head, then stakedand then they surrounded it all night and usually for three or four days. Meo is brave. The researcher worked on the mass tebe dance created by the Malacca ethnic groupwithregional pop songs. The main problem in this research is how the efforts are madetocultivate the mass tebe dance created by the Malacca ethnic group with regional popsongs for Welaus State High School students. The purpose of this study is to describethe cultivation of the Malacca Masal Masal Dance with the local pop songManukokorek. This research is a descriptive, research with a qualitative approach. Themethod used is field action. The data was collected through observation, interviews, anddocumentation. The results of the study show that the creation of the Malacca MassTebe Dance with the Manukokorek Pop Song for Welaus State High School StudentsUsing the Imitation and Drill Methods. The results of the study were carried out inthreestages. Initial Stage: self-introduction and recruitment. The core stage: explainingthematerial and practicing various dance movements. The final stage: staging or shootingvideo. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the process of cultivating the mass tebe dance created by the Malacca ethnic group can be carriedout quite well by the students of , SMA Negeri Welaus although there are difficulties, but these can be overcome by imitation and drill methods. which provides examples andexercises that are done repeatedly for students who have difficulty.
