Abstract

The high movement using private vehicles is one of the main causes of congestion. However, people's travel needs are not limited to using only one mode, it is necessary to have other modes as a liaison in the process of switching these modes. Problems in the practice of changing modes are often ignored and unconsciously have a major impact on the failure of public transport services. The purpose of this research is to know the characteristics of the movement of road users on Jalan Ahmad Yani, to know the performance of Jalan Ahmad Yani, to know what factors affect the performance of roads and pedestrian facilities, and to find out what solutions are suitable for the characteristics of these problems. The research variables are the availability and suitability of dimensions, the number and layout of each pedestrian facility and the degree of saturation (V/C), travel speed. The research method uses survey methods, data analysis methods use quantitative descriptive methods. Based on the analysis conducted, it is stated that the performance of the General Ahmad Yani road (Front of the Unwira Campus) is not good with a degree of saturation value of 0.576 (service category C). The volume of pedestrian movement at the observation location is included in the high category, this occurs because of a mismatch between the growth of road user activity and the service capacity of pedestrian facilities in the form of pedestrian bridges, sidewalks, bus stops and zebra crossings.
