Abstract

This research was conducted at manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) 2016-2018. The formulation of the problems in this study are (1) How is the picture of financial performance as measured by Return On Asset, Current Ratio, Debt to Asset Ratio, Total Asset Turnover, and Price to Book Value in manufacturing companies listed on the IDX in 2016-2018. (2) How is the description of stock returns in manufacturing companies listed on the IDX in 2016-2018? This type of research is associative research. The data analysis technique used quantitative descriptive analysis. The population in this study were all manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) totaling 161 companies. The sampling method used was purposive sampling with a total of 46 data. The data used were panel data, which consists of time series data and cross section data during the 2016-2018 period. The results of this study indicate that financial performance as measured by Return On Assets (ROA) in manufacturing companies listed on the IDX for the 2016-2019 period is still below the standard of 30% or it is said that the average manufacturing company is less effective in utilizing all assets owned in make a profit. The liquidity ratio is measured by Current Ratio (CR) based on the 200% standard, the result is above the standard or said to be good. The solvency ratio as measured by the Debt to Asset Ratio (DAR) based on the 35% standard, the results are below the standard or it is said to be good. The market ratio as measured by Price to Book Value (PBV) is based on a standard of 1%, the result is above the standard or it is said that the average stock price of manufacturing companies listed on the IDX for the 2016-2018 period is categorized as expensive, indicating greater market confidence in prospects the company. Suggestions: (1) For investors and potential investors, in making decisions to invest, they should consider the company's financial performance. If the company's financial performance is good, investors and potential investors should buy the company's shares, because it is hoped that by buying company shares, investors will benefit. (2) Manufacturing companies listed on the IDX should further increase the profitability ratio by managing all owned assets so that they can obtain maximum profit.
