Abstract
This study is entitled: “Mapping English Vocabulary of Three Semantic Domains-Transportation, Food and Drinks, and Flora and Fauna Acquired by The Eighth Students of SMPK Sta. Familia Kupang In The School Year 201/2019”. The study was conducted to answer the following questions. (1) Which semantic domains is the most least familiar to students?. While the objectives of the study are to find out (2) What are words of each semantic domain that have been acquired by the students of this group?. While the objectives of the study are to find out (1) To map words of three that have been acquired by the students SMPK Sta. Familia Kupang. (2) To figure out the familiarity of vocabulary the three semantic domains. The research is conducted at SMPK Sta, Familia Kupang. The subjects of the study were 24 students of the eighth grade students. The writer asked the students to match Indonesian words with English words. The data were obtained through test. The result of the study shows that most of the tested words have been acquired by the students. However some words such as: bis, tractor, taxi,car, truck, bicyle, train, corn, sausage, wheat bread, peanuts and milk are acquired by less than 50% of the students. Morevover other word have not been acquired at by all of the students e.g: cable car.
