Abstract

This study aims 1) to determine the role of female heads of household in increasing family income through processing titi corn in Kolipadan Village, Ileape District, Lembata Regency. 2) To determine family income from the sale of processed titi corn which is used to meet family needs in Kolipadan Village, Lembata District. ile ape, Lembata district 3) to find out the selling price of the processed corn titi. The techniques used in data analysis are data collection, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Triangulation is used to explain the validity of the data by using two kinds of triangulation, namely time triangulation and engineering triangulation. The results showed that: women play a major role in helping increase family income through processing titi corn, this is because women become heads of families and require women to work to help improve the family's economy, so that families are able to meet basic family needs, family psychological social needs and development needs so that the family can be said to be prosperous, according to the results of the research and discussion it can be concluded that the role of women is very large in helping to increase family income. From the results of the research it is suggested as follows: 1) it requires the concern of many parties from the government, non-governmental organizations to empower the potential of mothers so they can help the family economy by providing training, manual labor or helping with small credit businesses so that women in the village of Kolipadan do not experience problems in earning a living.
