Abstract
The background of this research is that students often experience obstacles in learning the material of lines and angles. The method used in this study was a Didactical Design Research (DDR) model which was carried out in 5 stages of analysis, namely prospective analysis, metapedidactic analysis, retrospective analysis, didactical design development, and didactical design trials. The subjects in this study were 3 students from class VII of SMPK Rosa Mystica. The instruments used in this research were tests, interviews, observation sheets, validation sheets, and documentation. The results showed that there were several learning obstacles experienced by students in learning the material of lines and angles, both ontogenic, didactical, and epistemological. Ontogenic learning obstacles include: students are not careful in solving problems, students lacking prior knowledge or students do not master prerequisite materials, students cannot determine opposite angles, and limitations of students in mastering the concepts of lines and angles. Didactic learning obstacles include: students' understanding of the material for lines and angles that are incomplete and students cannot determine opposite angles. These two things are due to: the emphasis on the concept of lines and angles is not optimal and the teacher is used to giving routine questions so that students have difficulty solving various questions. Epistemological obstacles include: students cannot solve various questions and students often experience errors in calculations. Based on the learning obstacles above, the researcher recommends a teaching module that aims to overcome or minimize these learning obstacles. The results of the validity analysis of teaching modules show a very high level of validity, with an average validity percentage of 90%. The results of the effectiveness analysis using N-gain analysis are in the high category with an average N-gain value of 0.9271. The results of the practicality and attractiveness analysis based on the results of the interviews pointed to the teaching modules that were recommended to be practical and interesting to use.
