Abstract

This research aims to help parents and students determine the best private high school (SMA) in the Larantuka sub-district. The solution used to assist parents and students in determining the best private high school (SMA) is to create a Decision Support System to determine the best private high school using the Weighted Product (WP) method because so far parents and students have had difficulty in determining the best private high school (SMA) to become the main choice for the next student's place of study after graduating from junior high school. The system development method used is the waterfall method. The stages in the waterfall method are Requirement, Design, Implementation, Integration and Testing, Operation and Maintenance. The method used in the Decision Support System is the Weighted Product method. The results of this study can prove that a decision support system can provide recommendations to students and parents in the process of selecting the best SMA in the Larantuka sub-district by using the Weighted Product method effectively and efficiently.
