Abstract

Transportation is an activity of moving something (goods and or people) from one place to another, either with or without means. Transportation is used to facilitate humans in carrying out daily activities. Transportation itself is divided into 3 parts, namely land, sea and air transportation. PT. Sinar Gemilang is one of the companies engaged in land transportation (bus) services located on Jl. Prof. M. Yamin Km. 1, Rinbesi, Kec. South Atambua, Belu Regency, East Nusa Tenggara and also located at the address Jl. Greater Timor, Km. 10, Lasiana, Kelapa Lima, Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Indonesia. The problem that occurs in this company is in the bus ticket ordering system which is still done manually, where customers have to come to the counters provided by PT. Sinar Gemilang to get bus tickets. Things like this are a problem because customers cannot see the departure schedule and the number of remaining tickets directly and the company cannot confirm directly to customers as well. Another problem found in PT. Sinar Gemilang, namely the process of collecting information on prospective passenger data by writing on an album book which if the book is fully loaded it will be stored in the warehouse and then replaced with a new book for data on prospective bus passengers, this is also very difficult and takes up a lot of Sinar Gemilang's employees. when you want to do a monthly report on passenger data every month in one year. This study aims to design and build a system "Bus Ticket Ordering Application at PT. Web-Based Sinar Gemilang", which provides easy service to customers when ordering bus tickets and can find out information about bus departure schedules easily and can also help Sinar Gemilang in recording every prospective passenger using the Sinar Gemilang bus.
